Report: Kevin Durant Left Disliked Spotlight In OKC

PER LarryBrownSports.com

ESPN’s Royce Young, in a story on the Russell Westbrook extension, noted that the public perception of Durant was not necessarily the reality. Durant, he wrote, was drawn to a bigger city not for more exposure, but because he could blend in better. Durant “privately lamented” how recognizable he was in public, and disliked the lack of privacy being the marquee figure in Oklahoma City brought with it.Young noted that Durant also had frequent issues with the roster, including complaints about a lack of veterans and spending. It turns out there were more reasons than winning that Durant joined the Warriors. There was the authenticity, and apparently, there was a better chance to blend in.
